Moreover, the program aims to familiarize the interns with the principles of Islamic Shari`ah and its implementation in the banking system.
The IBBL Internship Program aims to provide the interns with a comprehensive understanding of Islamic economics, banking, and finance. The program’s specific objectives are:
- To acquaint the interns with the concepts, principles, objectives & distinguishing features of Islamic Economics, Banking & Finance.
- To familiarize the interns with the concepts of basic banking literacy covering the areas of General Banking, Investment & Foreign Trade.
- To familiarize the interns with the principles of Islamic Shari`ah and its implementation in the banking system.
To be eligible for the Islami Bank Internship Program, a student must meet the following criteria:
- The student must be pursuing a BBA or MBA degree from any public or private university in Bangladesh.
- The student must have completed all of their academic courses.
- The student must have a minimum GPA score of 11.5 from SSC to the last semester of BBA.
- In each batch, only the first 70 candidates will be allowed through online application.
- More than ten candidates are not allowed from any single university in a batch.
Students will be disqualified if they meet any of the following criteria:
- Students with a GPA score of below 11.5 from SSC to the last semester of BBA/MBA.
- Students whose academic courses have not yet completed at the respective university.
- MBA students who completed the BBA internship program earlier at IBTRA.
- Incomplete or counterfeit application.
There are some restrictions that students must follow during the internship program, such as:
• No leave is allowed during the internship program. • Providing any false/fraudulent information is strictly prohibited, and such cases will be referred to the concerned university authority. • The internship program is fully non-residential.

The first step is to apply online for the program. On the designated days mentioned above, candidates can visit the official website of IBBL (www.ibtra.com) at 10.00 am and fill out the application form for the upcoming batch. Candidates should be prepared with their personal and academic information, including their present status and future expectations.
Receive Tracking Number:
Upon successful submission of the application form, candidates will receive a tracking number. This number will be required in all future communications with IBBL.
Print and Send Application:
The next step is to take a printout of the application form using the tracking number and send it to IBBL. Along with the application, candidates must also submit a forwarding letter by the Chairman/Head of the department, a recent passport-size photograph, and all academic mark sheets (duly attested). The mark sheets must be attested by any official of IBBL, not below the rank of Principal Officer or 1st class gazetted officer. Candidates must ensure that they submit their application within 7 working days from the date of online application.
Wait for Selection:
Once the application has been received by IBBL, candidates will have to wait for the list of selected candidates to be published. The list will be published within 6-10 days of receiving the hard copy of the application.

Candidates who are selected for the program will receive an official letter from IBBL. The letter will include details of the program, including the start date, the duration of the program, and other important information.
